Toys in Love Reviews the Tentacle Silicone Dildo by Whipspider

It is with great sadness that we note the Whipspider company is no longer in operation. If they ever resurface, SheVibe will be here with open arms. In the meantime this review will link to our Fantasy Dildo category for several other wonderful options.

Once again we’ve been snooping around in the halls of the mighty gods and goddesses at SheVibe, - and once again we snuck away with treasures of silicone and pleasure. Which, come to think of it, really isn’t all that hard since the whole damn place is full of pleasures of… well, you name it really, they’ve got heaps of pleasurable/desirable/enchanting pleasures in those halls… But a treasure we… umm… appropriated, and it’s such a good one that we thought we’d share it. We’re kind’a cool that way…

Whipspider Rubberworks. Name ring a bell? Thought so.  And it’s probably because we’ve been running in circles of pure delight every time we’ve been reviewing anything from those Maine based artisans and artists making these whimsical, magical, and delightful silicone toys.

This time it’s the Tentacle, and if ever I saw a toy befitting its name…
But first things first: Nondescript package from SheVibe and even more nondescript package inside from Whipspider Rubberworks. In fact it’s just a ziploc bag with a small note, explaining in few words how to take good care of your new toy… From a “save the planet” point of view; it’s pretty amazing. From a gift option point of view: not so much. Get a toy pouch or another storage option and you’ll be fine.

Pretty much the first thing you’ll notice when the ziploc bag goes flying over your left shoulder, is the weight of the Tentacle in your hands. It’s a good ‘chunk’ of 100% pure quality silicone. No phthalates, no toxins, no nothing but pure perfect silicone, and just knowing that makes the weight of the toy instantly awesome.

The artwork is intricate and extremely detailed: One side of the toy has a double row of finely sculpted suckers; the other is smooth and even. Each one of these suckers is crafted with extreme skill.

No edge not rounded perfectly, and no sucker-bottom not finished with an uncanny resemblance of ‘the real deal’. It really does look like some chopped off tentacle arm of some deep ocean octopus-sea-creature-thing. The bottom is wide, and underneath you’ll find a small hole and the Whipspider Rubberworks ‘stamp’. The small hole is perfect for a mini vibrator, and I know SheVibe has a great deal on a Mini Pearl vibrator if you buy it with the Tentacle, but if you have a favorite small/mini vibrator in the drawer…

The colors are amazing!  A combination of several colors swirling in shimmering detail, from the base all the way up. Inside this swirling sea of blue/purple/green’ish colors, one color is a pearl’ish color, that’ll actually store photons with a charge of bright light (under a lamp, sunshine and so on) and then slowly release them in darkness. Meaning the Tentacle glows in the dark! It’s quite a show, and brilliant fun when you play.

The full length is about 7 inches, but I wouldn’t recommend inserting more than about 6 of those. The tip is nicely tapered, and though widening down into a wide flared base, I can’t really recommend it for safe anal play. At least not for everyone. But really: with 2¼ inches, most people - us included - certainly found the base so wide, that it has been a wonder in the back-trap as well. It’s a perfect length to reach the prostate, and all those soft suckers playing with your sphincter muscles… Still; be careful - especially is you haven’t got a partner to be master and controller down there.

But we definitely can’t recommend it enough as a G-spot toy! The curve is brilliant when you want to hit the perfect spot. Rub it, massage it, and let all those suckers play with your vaginal walls. The base is even guiding the suckers in a soft turn, positioning them right on your clit when you thrust or twist the Tentacle. And should you be playing by your lonesome, I doubt you’ll find any toy more suited to really sit and grind on.

My Other Half - being crazy about water and having her ‘me time’ in the tub or spa - really enjoys relaxing with the Tentacle in its natural environment. It’s pretty much her only choice of waterproof dildo at the moment, and coming from a girl that has a walk-in closet of toys, that’s saying a lot. I think the very fact that the Tentacle stays put when you sit it on the bottom of the tub or the spa, makes it an easy choice for her. Trust me; I’ve had raw cheeks. I know how she loves the grind, and the Tentacle is a superb toy to grind down on.

The Tentacle is not harness compatible - so no pegging, but that doesn’t exclude anal play entirely. Just remember; it really isn’t meant nor recommended, but for us it’s perfect. The curve and length makes it easy to really get good, strong orgasms - and can produce quite a load for me. And with my Other Half the curve is strong enough for her to feel it rubbing her G-spot even during anal play, and it will give her quite strong anal orgasms as well.

Since the Tentacle is made from all this 100% pure silicone: only water-based lube and gels please! And it can be a bit of a lube-hog. But once slippery and well lubed, all those suckers will be an amazing experience, and one your definitely shouldn’t miss. We adore this thing! And had it been harness compatible, we would probably just stop reviewing sex toys right now!

Cleaning is done simply with warm water and a good anti-bacterial soap, finish off with a good sex toy cleaner and it’s good as new. Should you want to sterilize it: just boil it a few minutes - or throw it in the dishwasher, top rack, no soap.

Aside from the artistic mastery and brilliant craftsmanship of the Tentacle, it’s a work of wonder for all seeking a perfect silicone G-spot toy. Soft, squishy, scrumptious and glowing in the dark! Not to mention the duo effect of rubbing your clit and you G-spot at the same time. It’s becoming quite the habit of throwing love after Whipspider Rubberworks. Only problem is; it’s becoming quite the addiction playing with their toys as well!

SheVibe - who just continues to be cool - is another Whipspider Rubberworks toy short, which I’m really sorry about *cough*. But they have like a gazillion and two other great toys, so I’m fairly sure that if we all keep it slightly’ish between ourselves… - But do yourself a favor; give this Tentacle a chance. - You won’t regret it!
