I’m about to start off a round of Tantus reviews, and first up is the Splash, courtesy of SheVibe.com! You may have already noticed that I’m a bit obsessed with this company. They make such awesome products, though, that I’m on a Pokemon-style quest to own them all.

The Splash is one of Tantus’ newer releases, and I’m in love with it. It’s a non-representational shape (aka doesn’t look like a penis), and has a slight upward turn at the end. The colour scheme is awesome. The top of the toy is a pearlescent pearly white, and the bottom is a light purple with an opalescent sheer to it. Mine is mostly white, about 3/4ths, and the last 1/4th is purple, with some swirling and overlap between the two colours. The pouring process for this particular toy ensures that no two Splashes will end up looking exactly alike.

Like all of Tantus’ toys, this is made of pure medical grade silicone, and is non-porous, hypoallergenic, and sterilizable. You should only use water based lubes with silicone toys, as some types of silicone lubes may react with silicone toys, and it can damage your toy. Also, sometimes silicone toys can react to other silicone toys, so I prefer to err on the side of caution and just keep them separate. I store my silicone toys in plastic bags, as most silicone attracts lint and dust like crazy, and this also fixes the touching issue. To clean your dildo, you can wash it with antibacterial soap and water for everyday cleaning, or, to sterilize it, you can boil it for 10 minutes, toss it into the top shelf of your dishwasher (no dish-washing liquid, please!) or just wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution. My only problem with cleaning the Splash is that with all the texture, sometimes bits of lube or cum would get stuck in the ridges, so some extra cleaning with a toothbrush was required.

This is a fairly average sized toy, measuring in at 6.5 inches long, with a larger girth of 1.75 inches in diameter. I found that the shape and texture made the toy feel larger than this, though. The silicone is firm with just a bit of squishiness to it, and that combined with the type of silicone used may have you reaching for a bottle of lube. The shaft of the Splash is made of a glossy silicone that has some drag to it, while the shaft is a more matte feeling silicone. This is a good thing in some ways, though, because it means that this toy won’t pick up too much dust/hair/small furry animals/etc. If it seems like the size of the Splash will be too much for you, no worries! Tantus also made the Splish, which is smaller at 4.5 inches long and 1 inch in diameter, and more flexible. The Splash has a strap on harness compatible base, and I found that it was firm enough that there wasn’t too much droop to the toy when I tried it with my harness. The base also makes for a great handhold for when you’re using this dildo with a partner.

I wouldn’t recommend this toy if you’re not a fan of heavily textured sex toys! The texture is supposed to represent water droplets and ripples, but to me it looks a lot like wax does as it melts down the side of a candle. The ridges and bumps are definitely noticeable during use, and if texture isn’t your thing, or if you only like it in moderation, I’d recommend putting some extra lube on the Splash before using it.

Personally, I love the texture of the Splash. The ridges and raised bumps make my g-spot happy, as does the the upwards angle of the toy. I found it was fairly easy to have a g-spot orgasm with it (also, please commend me on my restrain in not making some sort of terrible pun about squirting), and it also was amazing to leave it inserted while I used a vibrator on my clit. Texture and girth to clench around as I orgasm? Yes, please!

Overall, this is an excellent dildo if you like non-realistic toys with texture (and I do!). I give it 5 ripply paws up out of 5! Thanks, Shevibe.com, for sending me this awesome toy in exchange for an honest review.
