Kira's Kink Reviews The Tantus Anaconda Dildo

Dildo On A Stick – Tantus Anaconda

You know what kinda sucks?  Trying to thrust with a dildo while holding onto the base.  They aren’t particularly ergonomic and can be quite wide (especially on larger toys).  They make my knuckles pop and my fingers cramp up.  There wasn’t much to be done about this issue.  That is, until now.

Tantus recently launched the Anaconda, the first in a new line.  Rather than ending with a traditional base, it extends further out to make a handle for easier thrusting.  Pretty cool, right?

My first thought when I saw the Anaconda released was “WTF?”, followed shortly by “I need this!”  It looks strange to be certain.  Strange is something I don’t mind if it’s also effective.  I was more than happy to take on testing the Anaconda for SheVibe.

WHAT IT IS

Dildo on a stick is the best way I can explain what exactly the Anaconda is.  It’s best suited for thrusting due to the addition of the handle, but you can just insert it as well.  It’s great for use with a partner or solo.  It’s not harness compatible since the base has been removed in lieu of the grip.  It does flare slightly at the end of the handle which makes this potentially anal safe.  It’s not a flare I’d personally be comfortable with, but those more experienced and less paranoid than I may be able to use this in that way.

PACKAGING

My Anaconda arrived in a simple plastic bag as it was a tester.  Should you decide to buy one, my bet is that it will come in a standard Tantus package.  These are clear boxes with red detailing.  The toy is visible through the package and the wording makes it apparent what the use is (in case you didn’t figure it out by looking at it).  It’s nicer than average packaging, but not something you’ll want to open around guests.

MATERIAL AND TEXTURE

Tantus is well known for their silicone toys.  Anaconda is made with their 100% Ultra Premium Silicone.  For more information about the care and safety of silicone you can check out the Material Guide.  A side note on this particular toy is that if you are going to boil it, make sure you find a big enough pot.  You don’t want the silicone to hit the sides of the pot.  This is a very long toy which will make that a harder task than you may think.  The detailing around the head of this toy collects fluids easily and can be hard to clean.  Pay special attention to this are when cleaning.

It’s not the worst lint collector ever, but it does attract particles to it.  Some type of proper storage (also easier said than done) will help prevent this.  Cleaning before use wouldn’t hurt either.

The Anaconda silicone is incredibly firm.  It does not squeeze in at all.  I can bend the shaft very little and have to use both hands to do so.  The handle is easier to bend since it isn’t as thick as the shaft.  I can bend the handle into a full U shape if I use both hands.

There is a significant amount of drag to the silicone.  I can barely run my finger along it due to the resistance it causes.  At the head (which is glossy rather than matte like the rest of the toy) my finger literally sticks to the material if I try to run it across.  While this can be somewhat alleviated with the use of a water based lube I did notice that I could still feel the drag even with lube applied.  Not as strong as without, of course, but still present.

This lightly textured silicone is the one and only downfall of Anaconda for me.  I’m moderately texture sensitive.  I can’t use glass with texture and such.  Silicone is usually nicer on my texture sensitivities.  Something about this texture really set it off.  If I thrust gently it’s not so bad.  The faster I go, the more it begins to feel like sandpaper.  Ouch.  I can’t use it at all with my husband who only knows how to thrust “fast” or “faster.”

The texture won’t be an issue for most people I’m guessing.  For more texture sensitive users, it’s something to watch out for.

SIZE

An anaconda is one of the largest snakes in the world.  It’s fitting then that this dildo is named after it.  At my measurement the total length is 11.5″.  The insertable length is about 7.25″.  The head starts at about 1 3/8″ in diameter.  Right under the head it jumps to the maximum diameter – 1.75″.  The circumference at this point is 5.75″.  Near the handle is 1.5″ in diameter.  The handle itself is 1.25″ at the larger points and 1 1/8″ at the smaller ones. The base is 2″ across.

So I guess I should have assumed from the name that this would be huge.  It’s not that it’s so large in diameter (though certainly too large for someone new to penetration), but wow is it ever long. The diameter will be best for those that have experience with moderately large sizes.  It’s not gigantic, but it’s not tiny either.  The firm silicone makes every bit of the size something you’ll feel.

DESIGN

When I first received the Anaconda, I knew the design reminded me of something.  I could not for the life of me figure out what it is.  Then one night my husband held it up and it hit me – it looks like a big, pink corndog!  I can’t help but giggle at how odd the shape of this dildo is.

The head doesn’t look like it would be all that noticeable, but it is.  The size difference isn’t great.  It’s the firm silicone that makes the shape of the head so pronounced in use.  There is a detailed frenulum which is done unevenly for a realistic detail.  There are some raised parts on the shaft to simulate veining.

The handle is done in an easy grip type style.  It has three outward bulges which go in between the fingers when the handle is gripped.  The small base prevents the hand from slipping off.

ANACONDA IN USE

I always test all my toys by myself first.  I used to not do this and ended up hurt a few too many times so I changed my strategy.  If something passes my “husband approved” test, then he can to use it with me.  The size and length of Anaconda make it initially fail this test as my husband gets way too enthusiastic and easily hurts me with anything too wide or long.  The unique design and my husband’s love of thrusting got this one a pass despite my reservations.

In solo use, I found the handle to be even better than I originally imagined it would be.  My hands gripped around it perfectly and it allowed me to control the speed and rhythm of my thrusts much more accurately.  I thought the extra length might cause me to feel stretched out to hold it, but I never felt like I was overextending my arm to use it.  I tend to be a slow to moderate thruster.  While the texture bugged me, Anaconda wasn’t rendered useless at these speeds.

My husband says using this over a regular dildo was a big improvement.  He said it was much easier to hold and use and didn’t cause his hand to cramp or get tired.  It seems that he had better control with the handle as well as his thrusts seemed extra quick while using this.  At these fast speeds, the texture was too much for me.  I had to stop him from continuing and switch to something else.  He really liked the handle and was very upset.

Anaconda will stay a solo use toy for me.  The texture just isn’t doable at the speeds my husband uses.  I also won’t be able to use this for days I want quicker thrusting on my own.  I’ll be keeping my eye peeled for the new additions to this line which hopefully will include totally smooth silicone finishes and (please, oh please) something in O2.

RECOMMENDATION

If you have no issues with texture and can handle the size, it’s well worth dealing with the corndog look.  The handle performs great, giving not only more comfort but more control.  This makes a great couple’s toy but it works just as well if used alone.  If you’re sensitive to textures, this may end up feeling more like sandpaper than anything else.  Moderately sensitive users may be able to use this at slower speeds.

IN CONCLUSION

I love pretty much everything about this dildo.  That is, except the fact that I can’t use it at fast speeds due to the texture.  Stupid sensitivity issues.  The texture knocks it down a point, but otherwise this exceeds all my expectations.
